In my 8-Week CHI Breakthrough Health Coaching Program with Diane Kazer, I was introduced to coffee enemas, the benefits, and the how-to do it yourself. Although I was at first terrified of the idea, I braved it out, purchased my kit, and gave it a shot.... a coffee shot....and I'm not gonna lie, my colon and liver loved it.
As a former librarian, I am a huge advocate of researching information, especially when it is related to my health. My big question was, are they safe and what is the long-term effect? After speaking to a few professionals, I've come to the realization that enemas have been around a lot longer than us and is an ancient healing practice with the intention of expelling waste and gas. So when done properly and when necessary, they can be extremely healing, as I have experienced. Having recovered from pneumonia, my body was feeling in need of a deep cleanse so I felt called to a short-term consistent practice of coffee enemas, and plan to continue it when I feel the call.
In total honesty, I have felt torn between the mixed reviews on coffee enemas. The benefits being: extremely detoxifying for the liver; and just as there is a contradiction for everything, I've also heard and read the downside: that it can deplete the good bacteria in our gut and make our colon lazy. But because I have had first-hand experience and had only positive results, I would love to share more on that.

Attention All Gallstoners!
So apparently , we ALL have gallstones. Not just in our gallbladder, but mostly piled up in our liver. According to medical intuitive Andreas Moritz, author of The Amazing Liver Cleanse, "They (gallstones) are, indeed, one of the major reasons people become ill and have difficulty recuperating from illness." Michael and I decided to do this flush mostly for preventative measures. But having been told numerous times over the last decade by homeopathic doctors that the root cause of my allergies was my liver, I would have done this flush years ago. Better late than never!

It's an intense experience that will leave you in awe of what has been building up in your liver since childhood. Having just completed the flush and post-colonic, I feel as if someone pressed the reset button on my digestive system. The actual flush was exhausting and definitely takes some recovery time, but it was well worth it! I was able to count at least 120 visible gallstones, which means a few hundred more that weren't visible were also released. Considering both Michael and I are both Chi Nei Tsang (Abdominal Massage) practitioners, we totally value the importance of gut health and understand how our gut is truly our second brain and storehouse of emotions. As I witnessed the release of gallstones and bile throughout the cleanse and colonics, I felt as if I was also letting go of stagnant emotions of fear, worry, anxiety, and sadness.
